LeMahieu and Young stain Fiers' resume

D.J. LeMahieu has four-hit game
Colorado didn't need home runs to beat up Milwaukee and star rookie Mike Fiers, scoring nine times on Monday.

Fiers entered the game with a dominating 1.80 ERA but allowed eight runs in two innings at Coors Field.

Rookie second baseman D.J. LeMahieu's four-hit night led the parade as the Rockies banged out 15 hits.

Rightfielder Eric Young Jr. had two more hits and remains hot, bumping his average to .309 with a 17-for-36 (.472) run over his last nine games.

Rookie reliever Will Harris (2006 draft pick, 9th round), allowed a homer and three runs in one inning in his major-league debut. He's talented. There will be better days. He just had a tough indoctrination. He's mentally strong, he'll survive. It took him six years to reach the majors, overcoming injury and impatience.

Rockies' Prospects Spotlight

Former Rockie Ryan Spilborghs had three hits against Rockies' Triple-A affiliate Colorado Springs last night. Spilborghs is now in the Texas Rangers' system. Spilborghs is now hitting .293 on the season.

Dante Bichette Jr. went 0-for-3 playing against Rockies' Low-A affiliate Asheville. Bichette Jr. is hitting .241 with 20 doubles, two homers and 36 RBI for the New York Yankees' farm organization.

Low-A shortstop Trevor Story made his 20th error of the season. His defense is known to be good but he can still clean up his work a little.

Jeffrey Popick
Grand Junction (rookie-league team) leftfielder Jeffrey Popick singled three times to raise his average to .363. He has 10 doubles, five homers and 27 RBI in 33 games. Popick was born in Lakewood, CO and played at Mesa State College, now Colorado Mesa University, in Grand Junction.

Tri-City pitcher Peter Tago, who has been much improved as the season has rolled on in 2012, walked seven in four innings on Monday.
