Outfielder Charlie Blackmon had three hits at Triple-A and his average is up to .328. Expect him with the Rockies before the end of the season.
How bad has Guillermo Moscoso been this season since coming to Denver in a trade with Oakland? After giving up 5 runs in 5 1/3 innings last night, his ERA is 6.25 in 16 starts with the Sky Sox. He had a 3.38 ERA in 21 starts and 23 games with the A's last season.
Outfielder Corey Dickerson hit his 10th homer at Double-A Tulsa, which is his 19th of the season between playing for the Drillers and High-A Modesto. Dickerson remains a solid prospect.
Third baseman Nolan Arenado is hitting the ball extremely well lately. Four hits last night, including two doubles, and his average is up to .277. He has 10 hits in his last 14 at-bats.
Jhoulys Chacin struck out five in five innings, allowed two runs and most impressively for him, didn't walk a batter.
Second baseman Taylor Featherston had two hits, including his 9th homer, for Low-A Asheville in what has been a solid season for him (.295 with 9 homers and 41 RBI) and teammate and third baseman Sam Mende hit his 31st and 32 doubles.
Remember those two names. They are under-the-radar-type-quality prospects. Not elite but guys who could reach the majors and stick.
Reliever Scott Oberg has had a very good start to his pro career as he lowered his ERA to 1.04 for Grand Junction. Teammate and mega-hit wonder David Dahl held to one hit, dropping his average to a very "disappointing" .379.
