2012 draftees hot and Blackmon heating up

Rockies 2012 first-round pick David Dahl had 4 hits in a doubleheader and is now hitting .330 at (rookie league) Grand Junction. Teammate Eddie Butler, the 46th overall pick in 2012, threw 5-shutout-no-walk innings and struck out 7.

Butler has a 15/1 strikeout-to-walk ratio and has allowed only 1 homer in 19 1/3 innings. He's also tormenting right-handed batters (.176 average against).

T.J. Oakes, a 2012 draftee (11th round), had one interesting pitching line last night at short-season Tri-City.

6 innings pitched, 10 hits, 1 run allowed, no walks and 9 strikeouts.

It was his best outing of the season.

Outfielder Charlie Blackmon has his average up to .286 at Triple-A, working his back to the majors from injury. He's red-hot now though, hitting 13-for-his last 24 (.542).
